The Integrated Marketing Director is accountable for the
development, implementation, and operational oversight of the
organization’s enterprise-wide integrated marketing strategy
(inclusive of marketing, communications and creative design
strategies). This role leads those operational functions and
collaborates broadly with internal and external stakeholders to
ensure the execution of relevant, innovative, and effective
marketing, communications and creative design initiatives that
advance the Association’s strategic and operational objectives. As
a member of the Strategic Council Team, the Integrated Marketing
Director collaboratively plans for and regularly assesses the
organization's progress toward its goals, bringing a holistic
perspective on all products, programs, and brand initiatives. This
role facilitates decisions on emerging business opportunities
through the lens of market research, current market penetration,
and internal and external needs assessments, ensuring alignment
with the Association’s brand, mission, and strategic priorities.
The Director synthesizes and presents marketing and market data to
the Strategic Council Team to inform evaluations of successes,
challenges, and growth opportunities, enabling data-driven,
mission-aligned decision-making. As part of the Strategic Council
Team, the role develops strategic plans, and identifies
organizational strengths and weaknesses in order to achieve
business opportunities, growth, and financial profitability. Main
Accountabilities & Results: Provide authentic leadership and
development to the teams and team members this position supports.
Provide overall leadership, mentoring, and direction to direct
reports including the establishment of priorities and goals,
performance feedback, and evaluation and distribution of duties.

Role modeling respect for diverse perspectives, this role seeks
input across teams and integrates these, as well as established
team norms, into work processes and relationships. Promote and
uphold all Human Resources processes and systems. Develop and
direct enterprise-wide strategic planning for marketing,
communications and creative design, driving alignment, innovation,
and measurable impact across all functions to advance the
Association’s mission and long-term objectives. Responsible for
accelerating organizational growth and strengthening brand equity
(the organizational value that derives from member trust, mission
alignment, and positive perception of the brand) by ensuring the
design and execution of a unified, end-to-end customer journey
across all touchpoints. Establish priorities that drive audience
engagement, brand strength, growth and organizational impact, while
ensuring operational feasibility through ongoing capacity planning
and resource management. Collaborate with senior leadership and key
stakeholders to identify opportunities, anticipate challenges, and
define strategies that enhance organizational outcomes and respond
to evolving priorities. In collaboration with department leaders
and business stakeholders, oversee and guide the development of
business unit marketing plans inclusive of integrated,
multi-channel initiatives, ensuring alignment with enterprise
marketing strategy, organizational goals and industry standards and
advancement of organizational priorities. Provide leadership and
collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and
sustain the effective use of nurse journey mapping, analytics, and
other relevant data to optimize end-to-end nurse experiences, drive
engagement, and maximize mission impact. Establish performance
metrics and evaluation frameworks to measure the impact of
integrated marketing initiatives and inform ongoing strategy
adjustments. Report on these regularly to business units, as well
as staff and board leadership. Actively monitor execution
readiness, making adjustments to scope or timing as needed to
ensure all plans are achievable and aligned with team capacity and
organizational priorities. Serve as strategic marketing expert,
translating complex market and performance data to providing
credible insights and recommendations, thought leadership and
effective implementation that ensures relevant, modern marketing
initiatives as well as future-focused innovation. Serve as a
trusted thought partner on high-stakes advocacy, crisis, public
relations, and media communications. Establish and optimize
systems, structures, operational capabilities and marketing
technology to enable the effective development, feasible execution,
and evaluation of integrated marketing strategies, ensuring
commitments are realistic and deliverable based on resourcing,
timing, and organizational priorities, and that outcomes strengthen
the Association’s brand, reputation, and market position. Provide
strategic leadership and operational oversight across all
Integrated Marketing functions, including marketing,
communications, creative, and project management. With department
leads, collaborate to ensure resourcing, capacity planning, and
budget oversight across Integrated Marketing teams, ensuring
operational alignment and balancing organizational priorities,
timelines, and available resources. Provide leadership and
strategic direction in the adoption and use of MarTech and data
platforms needed to execute the defined strategies and initiatives.
Partner with internal stakeholders, including business strategy,
IT, UX, and business intelligence to develop and implement systems,
tools, and processes that enable effective strategy execution,
enhance audience and internal experiences, and support continuous
improvement. Ensure effective communications across the
organization to drive clarity, alignment, and effective execution
of integrated marketing priorities across teams and business units.
Promote process adoption, operational consistency, and
cross-functional collaboration to maximize effi ciency and
organizational impact. Confidently negotiate and adjust scope and
priorities to balance enterprise strategy, execution feasibility,
and organizational objectives. Skills Required: Deep expertise in
the discipline and leadership of all functional areas the role
oversees, including marketing, communications, creative services,
and project management. Ability to build organizational
understanding of these functions, advance their work and drive
organizational outcomes. Proven track record of leading
marketing-driven strategic planning, organizational change and
innovation, including anticipating trends, evaluating risk,
garnering buy in, managing change, and implementing scalable,
future-focused communications solutions. Expertise in integrated
campaign execution and resource management, with a focus on
delivering measurable and sustainable results. Exceptional
executive presence, communication and facilitation skills, with a
strong ability to assess organizational dynamics to build consensus
and align cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external
partners and tailor messaging that resonates across diverse
audiences. Exemplary professional and ethical standards,
consistently demonstrating objectivity, competence, due care,
honesty, integrity, sound judgment, and confi dentiality, with the
credibility to serve as a trusted leader and public representative
of AACN in professional and industry forums. Demonstrated expertise
in the identifi cation and implementation of MarTech systems,
including but not limited to CRM platforms, marketing automation
systems, web analytics, etc. Proven strength in people leadership
and talent development, including coaching, mentoring, performance
management, and fostering inclusive, high-performing teams.
Demonstrated ability to work across the organization to build and
sustain trust-based, collaborative relationships, creating an
environment where teams can grow and innovate, while navigating
complex interpersonal and organizational dynamics to advance shared
goals. Experience in leading or partnering with UX to leverage user
research to guide strategies, and ensuring decisions align with
organizational objectives and audience needs. Strategic marketing
expert with strong business acumen and ability to provide credible
insights with the ability to clearly articulate complex, integrated
marketing concepts, analysis, and strategies to a wide range of
audiences. Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and
Zoom. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's required or
equivalent experience. Master’s degree preferred. Minimum 10 years
of experience with a progression of roles in marketing,
communications, creative design and project management and people
leadership with proven ability to lead across teams to meet and
exceed organizational goals. At least 5 years of experience in a
director-level role, leading marketing, communications and/or
creative functions within a complex, multi-stakeholder
organization. Demonstrated expertise developing and executing
integrated, enterprise-wide marketing strategies (inclusive of
communications, creative design and project management) aligned
with organizational goals. Proven track record of brand
stewardship, strategic messaging, UX and audience engagement across
multiple channels, including digital, content, and media.
Association experience preferred, healthcare and/or nursing
association experience highly desirable. A background in agency or
large, complex, cross-functional marketing organizations is also
strongly preferred. Experience in working with IT and other
stakeholders to develop and implement technologies, systems and
processes to support and advance modern marketing efforts.
Experience in media and crisis communications. Experience
partnering with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to
translate strategic priorities into effective marketing and
communications initiatives. Physical Requirements: In addition to

workday. Total Compensation: The target pay range for this role is
$170,797 - $213,497. In addition to the salary range listed, we
