Solutions family.Position: Senior Data EngineerThe Senior Data
Engineer will oversee data integration efforts, including
developing and maintaining data models, supporting data cleaning
and transformation, and scripting for data analysis. This role
collaborates with the Data Modeling, Data Operations, and Data
Metrics and Assessment teams to interpret operational requirements,
perform data modeling, and create secure data pipelines for
near-real-time data ingestion from various sources. A key
responsibility is enforcing data modeling best practices and
managing version control across development, integration, and
production environments.Requirements
- Experience with data routing and transformation tools such as
NiFi, Airflow, or dbt.
- Strong skills in Java, Python, or SQL for ETL/ELT data pipeline
development supporting data-driven applications.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Linux shell, Python,
Perl, JavaScript, or similar.
- Knowledge of data modeling conventions for physical (schemas)
and logical (UML) data models; experience with data serialization
tools like Protobuf, Avro, JSON, XML.
- Understanding of data security fundamentals such as encryption,
pedigree, and provenance for compliance.
- Experience with source code management tools including git via
GitHub, GitLab, or BitBucket.
- Ability to draft and maintain technical documentation.
- Experience with RDBMS (Oracle, Postgres, MySQL) and non-SQL
databases (HBase, Accumulo, MongoDB, Neo4J).
- Familiarity with Cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Experience working in classified environments such as SIPR or
JWICS.Desired Skills
- Experience with Intelligence and C2 data sets (Link16, JREAP-C,
SIGINT, MASINT, GEOINT).
- Knowledge of DoD Architectural frameworks; contributions to
systems engineering artifacts per DoDAF are a plus.
- Familiarity with cross-domain methodologies.
- Experience with scalable frameworks like Hadoop, Docker,
Kubernetes, Kafka.Tools
- Personal computers and project test equipment.
- Platforms: Docker/Podman, Kubernetes, Helm, NiFi, Grafana,
Prometheus, VS Code.
- Operating Systems: Windows, Linux (RedHat).Must-Haves
- B.A. or B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or
related.
- 5-10 years of experience in network engineering principles and
architecture development.
- Active TS//SCI clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
- Ability to use a PC, keyboard, and mouse consistently.
- Full-time, on-site at a government facility.
- Occasional travel up to 10%.Communication Skills
- Proficient in business tools (Microsoft Word, Excel).
- Excellent technical writing skills for plans and
