Space and Security (BDS), Ground Development and Mission Operations
Division, is seeking an Associate Ground Systems Integration and
Test Engineer (Level 2) to join our team in Seal Beach, CA. Our
team creates the next generation products and services for the BDS
business unit. We work with proprietary customers in the
development of the next-generation technologies in space. Our team
focuses on rapid prototyping to demonstrate a host of
mission-focused technologies for a variety of customers. Our group
works all facets of engineering from technology investment, concept
development, proposal writing, requirements and design, build,
integration, test, and demonstration of products in their relevant
environments. Position Overview: The Associate Ground Systems
Integration and Test Engineer will be a part of a high-performing
team that are immersed in high intensity development projects. As a
member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work
proprietary programs being performed for U.S. government customers
who are responsible for exciting national security missions. This
position will design, build, deploy operate and maintain a wide
variety of mission critical platforms and systems for commercial
and government customers. This role will support in vital systems
development and integration and test activities to establish
product readiness and transitioning for off-site operations.
Position Responsibilities: Applies an interdisciplinary,
collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a
lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.
Evaluates customer and /operational needs to define and coordinate
system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and
assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program
interfaces. Performs various analyses to optimize total system of
systems and/or system architecture. Performs analyses for
affordability, safety, reliability (FMEA), maintainability,
availability, testability, human systems integration,
survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security,
regulatory, certification, product assurance, system safety and
other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to
ensure mission success. Performs verification and validation of
system requirements with proper flowdown and traceability for
system, hardware, and software components executing scope of
validation or regression activities required for recertification.
Perform integration and test of HW and SW domains for Command and
Control, Mission Management, and Mission Processing elements to
ensure system success with ground segments to include heritage
systems. Creates and executes required regression testing, test
plans, procedures, schedules and documentation preparation to
support verification, validation, certification, and transition.
Supports design, development, and implementation of safe operation
of test facilities/labs and instrumentation systems with
documentation, proper licensing, calibration, tooling to meet
certification requirements. Supports analysis and preparation of
test results to verify and validate design and performance to meet
government, regulatory, customer and program compliance
requirements. Conduct aerospace research and preliminary design;
develop and transition test technology. Supports test interface
development, documentation, and compliance and system integration
across hardware and software domains for Command and Control,
Mission Management, and Mission Processing elements to ensure
system success with ground segment. Supports implementation and
documentation of system-level network interfaces, plans, network
connectivity drawings. Supports implementation and management of
system integration labs. Provides operations support with
logistics, supportability and sustainment/maintenance including
sparing with operator training and transition procedures, plans and
documentation. Supports interface development, documentation (ICDs
and IDDs), and compliance and system integration across hardware
and software domains for Command and Control, Mission Management,
and Mission Processing elements to ensure system success with
ground segment. Develops and documents system-level network
interfaces, plans, network connectivity drawings. Actively
participate in integration and test activities for our products to
include software installs and hardware integration with
troubleshooting and RCCA where required. Work Authorization: This
position requires the ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance
post start, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S.
Citizenship. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an
accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science,
mathematics, physics or chemistry. Experience working in a highly
collaborative cross functional team environment. 1 year or more of
experience in systems engineering to include system architecture,
requirements and interface development and allocation, verification
and validation, integration and test, system trades, RCCA/FRACAS,
and risk management. 1 year or more of experience with Agile
environment. Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Active Top Secret/SCI U.S. Security Clearance highly desirable.
Experience in software coding and troubleshooting. Experience with
cost account management. Experience supporting proposal activity
for new and follow-on business. Experience interfacing with senior
leadership and customer. Experience in ground and space systems.
Typical Education & Experience: Education/experience typically
acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited
course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics,
physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years'
related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical
education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET
accreditation is the preferred, although not required,
accreditation standard. Relocation: This position offers relocation
