Under the direction  of department supervision, this position performs daily operation, maintenance and repair of  pumps, motors,

  filters, plumbing, fixtures, and automated chemical feeding equipment. Maintains aquatic facilities, water slides, public swimming

  pools, and drinking water production and treatment equipment.  This includes water testing, monitoring and adjusting filtration and

  treatment equipment to ensure compliance with government regulations and industry standards. Responds to emergency calls to

  ensure public health and safety standards are met. Responsible for drinking water, pool and water slide chemical balance within

  regulated limits and maintaining these systems in a safe, efficient and aesthetically pleasing condition.

              Perform Drinking Water sampling and testing to ensure compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act and other relevant

              Health Codes.  Evaluate test results and adjust drinking water treatment system as needed to maintain government

              mandated values. Monitor, operate and maintain the well system that provides our drinking water, the drinking water

              treatment systems, and monitoring stations.

              Calculate chemical dosages, system volumes, flow rates, etc..

              Monitor chemical and parts inventories and notify supervision as needed.

 

              Perform analysis of pool water samples to confirm proper operating conditions and Health Code compliance, hourly

              logging results. Make adjustments as needed, based on operating trends of the systems.

              Perform daily operational/safety inspections of water slides and other state inspected rides at water park in compliance

              with DOSH requirements.  Perform other routine mandated inspections via rope climbing methods. Monitor, operate and

              maintain public swimming pool automated water treatment systems, chemical pumps, manual and automated filter

              systems and pumps, water slide and circulation pumps, manual and automated valve systems, pneumatic systems, wave

              generating equipment, and automated water level controls.

              Calculate chemical dosages, system volumes, flow rates, etc..

              Monitor chemical and parts inventories and notify supervision as needed. Clean and maintain all associated equipment,

              such as strainer baskets, pumps, tools, etc.. Perform offseason maintenance and rehabs as scheduled to minimize

              equipment downtime and to maximize guest satisfaction.

 

              Perform inspections and sampling of stormwater and washdown runoff water as required to ensure compliance with

              NPDES permit.

 

              Complete and route routine paperwork and reports for required recordkeeping in compliance with regulatory mandates from

              Orange County Healthcare Agency, State Regional Water Quality Control Board, State Department of Health Services,

              State Division of Occupational Safety and Health Amusement Ride and Tramways Division, and the US Environmental

              Protection Agency.

              Coordinate water sample collection and pickup by State certified laboratory for specified testing. Monitor company radio

              and respond to incidents related to aquatic health and safety concerns.

 

              Provides guest service according to Cedar Fair standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including

              initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.

 

              Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Cedar Fair Safety

              guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.

 

              Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.

 

 

              Meets Cedar Fair's attendance requirements as outlined in Cedar Fair's attendance policies.

 

 

              Adheres to Cedar Fair's Rules of Conduct including specific costuming and grooming standards as outlined in Employee

              Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures.

 

              Other duties may be assigned.


Current AFO (Aquatic Facilities Operator) or CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certificate or must obtain within 6 months of

    employment.

 

    Prior experience with automated chemical dispensing equipment preferred.

 

    Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.

 

    Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.

 

    Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV,

    previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial

    law.
