This opportunity is open to all interested candidates. The Multiple Subject with Bilingual Authorization (BCLAD) is for assignments for the 2026-2027 school year. If you are currently in the 2025-2026 Multiple Subject with Bilingual Authorization (BCLAD) eligibility pool, you must submit a completed application to be considered for a position in the 2026-2027 school year. This posting is specific to Multiple Subject with Bilingual Authorization (BCLAD) for the following languages only; Spanish, French and Mandarin. Please note, if you do not hold a Multiple Subject with Bilingual Authorization (BCLAD) in Spanish, French or Mandarin, you will be disqualified and not continue in the recruitment process. POSITION SPECIFICS: Multiple Subject with Bilingual Authorization (BCLAD) in Spanish, French or Mandarin for assignments for the 2026-2027 school year. The San Diego Unified School District is accepting applications for the Multiple Subject teachers that hold a Bilingual Authorization (BCLAD) in Spanish, French or Mandarin for regular full-time and part-time assignments in a TK through 8th grade environment. This recruitment will be used to establish an eligibility list for elementary and K-8 schools. Candidates that do not wish to be considered for regular full-time/part-time positions should apply to the substitute teacher pool to be considered for temporary assignments. Examples of Duties: An Elementary Multiple Subject with Bilingual Authorization (BCLAD) Teacher develops and implements lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the District's curriculum program in Spanish, French or Mandarin. The duties of this position include but are not limited to the following: Present subject matter according to guidelines established by the Board of Education and administrative regulations. Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles. Encourage pupils to think independently and to express original ideas. Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students. Assess student progress on objectives, expectations, and/or goals and provide feedback to students, parents, and administration. Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment, including instructional media. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Credential Requirements A valid California or out-of-state teaching credential. Are enrolled in a college/university to attain a teaching credential. Are intern eligible through their college or university. Candidates eligible for a multiple subjects credential may be considered. Bilingual Authorization (BCLAD) in Spanish, French or Mandarin If you have not applied for a California teaching credential, you must hold a Certificate of Clearance prior to applying for your credential. As of January 1, 2025, in accordance with Education Code section 44939.5 (as amended by California AB 2534) applicants for certificated positions are required by law to provide a complete list of every school district, county office of education, charter school and/or state special school with which you have previously been employed, regardless of the length of service. Required documents must be attached to the online employment application to be considered. All application questions should be answered thoroughly, clearly, and concisely as the responses provided (along with the entire application package) will be carefully reviewed to determine which candidates will move forward in the recruitment process. Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications are not guaranteed advancement through any subsequent phase of the examination. Candidates selected to proceed in the examination process will be invited to an interview. Applicants who pass the examination process will be placed on an eligible list for a period of one school year. The eligible list will be used to fill vacancies at various school sites.
