Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1 year of
Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do
not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A full-time
Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
Speech-Language Pathologist is sought for a contract position with
a public school district in La Mesa, New Mexico. This role
primarily serves a welcoming elementary school setting with a
dedicated team of SLPs, offering a supportive and collaborative
work environment. Key Responsibilities: Manage a caseload of
approximately 60 students, including three structured communication
classrooms (SCCs). Provide ongoing speech-language therapy,
focusing on current therapy needs without the immediate concern for
compensatory services. Utilize or develop skills in AAC
(augmentative and alternative communication) as needed. Collaborate
with other speech-language pathologists and school staff to support
student progress. Preferred Qualifications: Valid New Mexico state
licensure as an SLP is required before starting; candidates must
have already applied or possess this license. Approval of a
Professional Educator Development (PED) certificate from the New
Mexico Department of Education (can be pending at start). Bilingual
abilities in Spanish are a plus but not mandatory, as bilingual
support is already present in the team. Willingness to learn and
grow professionally, especially in AAC technologies. Experience in
school settings highly preferred. Location and Work Environment:
Based in southern New Mexico, the position is located near scenic
areas including White Sands National Park. El Paso, Texas, is
approximately 46 miles away, making it an accessible location for
candidates from the region. The district prides itself on being
small but very supportive, fostering professional collaboration.

end of the school year. Both full-time and part-time candidates who
