Job Description:
Our non-profit client is seeking a Controller to join their
accounting function to manage their daily accounting and reporting
functions and provide supervision over the staff. This position
offers a rare chance to join a stable organization with plans for
project-based expansion. The Controller will be responsible for,
but not limited to, the following: Oversee the general accounting
functions and supervise, train, and develop staff Assist with the
month-end close process with heavy involvement with review of
account reconciliations and related analysis Review the daily
operational accounting transactions – accounts receivable and
payable - for the business unit Manage business related taxes (e.g.
sales & use, property, and payroll) and identify opportunities for
savings and compliance Provide operational accounting guidance and
support to the team and proactively engage in accounting related
areas whenever possible Assist with upcoming project-based
initiatives and monitor related finances Participate in ad-hoc
accounting and finance projects The qualified Controller will have
a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration with
an emphasis in Accounting. The Controller will be a self-starter
who is capable of independent problem solving and proactive
execution of assigned tasks. It is highly preferred that the
Controller have prior experience working within a 501c3 environment
and familiar with non-profit accounting. The Controller must
possess a collaborative, team-oriented, humble, and positive
personality and should be comfortable moving between various tasks
and confident in their ability to attack new challenges head on.
